Vicio

Competence level and description

Since September 1999 he has taken Pierfunk's place. Bass player and band's trainer. He's got an excellent technique, versatility and improvisation ability both with the 5 strings and with the gym tools. Do never make him angry.

Previous experiences

The first mnemonic clutches saw him, at the age of 8, as totally addicted to the 45s "Message in a bottle" by Police. He used to listen to the song from morning to evening sharing this monotonous passion with his mother.

When he was 10, misled by his 14 years old cousin, he crossed the way of hard rock: Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, subsequently passing through Metallica and Slayer, up to degenerate on the black metal side with Venom, Celtic Frost and Mercyful Faith.

He was fond of music but not yet a musician when he decided to try to make the most of his humanistic studies (state secondary school specializing in classical studies) with a prestigiuos journalistic carrer. He used to review metal records for the authoritative (??!!) music magazine called "Inferno Rock". The current picture on his driving licence testify an above any suspicion past as long-haired youth.

At the age of 16 he decided to dedicate himself to the music. He put his fingers on a crude guitar but his dream broke in front of the barrč insuperable block. Too much pain! Finding out again the primary predilection for Sting, he decided to dodge round the obstacle getting rid of the typical too many strings of the acoustic guitar and avoiding the harmonies. Unexpectedly, he received a hiring proposal from a trash metal band. He decided to set himself up as a skilled bass guitarist, borrowing the instrument from a friend. In the rehearsals hall, spying upon the guitarist's hand movements, he managed, bluffing sansationally, in getting through the audition, also thanks to the complicity of the amplifiers' immoderate volume. He made it! He officially became the bass guitarist of the fantastic "Forgotten Sons" (?).

From the age of 18 to 21 he went right down the Val di Susa (a Valley near Turin) metal enviroment, completely covered by studs. Everything seemed to go in the best way. But fate managed the most dreadful of the mockeries for a young banger. Baldness came, heralded by a relentlessly receding hairline. Our fellow decided to face the destiny with a strong temper and, along with a tactical shave, arrived the aplication to the Centro Jazz School.

The resonant horizons increased and Bass Vicio, between an harmonized major scale and another, used to listen, with certain curiosity, to Living Colors, Fishbone, Bad Brains, driving through Miles Davis up to John Zorn.

When he stopped the death metal satanic attitude, fell in with a new reference figure: Jaco Pastorius. A very intense period of his life started. He used to alternate the everyday music studies to those of architecture at university. To earn his living he worked during the evenings as fitness trainer in a gym that was mostly attended by women. No dope at all!

To add to his salary he accepted the hiring of several cover bands on which we prefer to shut up (even because it is told of a band with a singing Boosta).

The multicoloured picture of an enough open minded element who aroused the curiosity of the Subsonica compages (of whose he always said he was a first hour fan) was enriched by some Jazz concerts.

His passion for raggae, dub, and similar activities let us suppose that he is going to develop inside the skull the growing of hairs as dreadlocks.

Specifical personality characteristics

He has a great storage capacity that incredibly uses to jot down some of the most absurd things: the most widespread band formations, titles, records and year of publication. He speaks very fluently an undefined number of languages. As he joins in any kind of discussion, he shows uneasiness signals because he can't tell anybody that he/she is wrong. In this cases he goes over a subject underlying irreconcilable thesis and anthitesis.
