Competence level and description

Drummer. He is powerful, precise and skilled. He is a great expert of sequencers and samplers. In order to record complex grooving rhythms he has also played more than three drums in the same song. Previous experiences

When he was 4 years old he used to beat wildly his mother's cookware with cutlery and any kind of tool he met on his way.

His parents decided to buy him a toy instrument when he turned 6. Aged 10 he also received a real drum (with leopard spots!) and the possibility to study with a teacher.

In the third year of primary school he gigged for the very first time, accompanying the school teacher in a performance for piano and voice. The song was Sandokan by Oliver Onions.

At the age of 12 he was recruited in the town band of the pleasant village of Alba, where he played the snare-drum during the local Truffle Fair for several years.

He began seriously to apply himself to the instrument studying hard, listening to the wire radio and to his father's records (especially Duke Ellington). He also started to accompany his father who was an organist in the Brandizzo parish church. In that church, during the Christmas Eve Mass 1984, after the Gloria, he was asked to stop the performance!

He used to study his drums so hard that he captured the attention of the local police station. Urged by the neighbourhood, the policemen began to follow the pupil's developments daily visiting the family.

But soon the family had to move away.

In the new house he was packed in an echoless box. He used to spend there the whole days-evenings-nights, having a break only to receive food supplies from the family. He came out after five years and he decided to enter a national competition for non-professional drummers. He won.

The following year he entered again the contest. He won again.

The third year…the organizers advised him to do not apply again.

Aged 20 he improved his knowledge at the Centro Jazz School where he met Samuel who invited him to play in a cover gig. That night in the little club he had to to solve the problem of playing with drums belonging to a left-hander who was not willing to change the set round. The solution was within reach: playing all the concert in the opposite way was enough!

With the current Doctor Livingston bass player he formed the Base, a funk-rock band who received good remarks both in Turin and outside, in Festivals like Rock Contest and Arezzo Wave. When Boosta came to play the keyboards the band split. The vocalist changed genre assuming the pseudonym of Neja.

The Subsonica tracked him down while he was in Brazil , touring with Ornella Vanoni. He joined enthusiastically to the project.

Specifical personality characteristics

Having a phlegmatic nature, he never loses his temper except when someone hides the computer from him and/or beat him at the Playstation and/or do not feed him. Pay attention: basically he only eats pizza with wurst; he is able to concentrate in any kind of enviromental situation; he has particular functions that allows him to fall asleep immediately.
